Mediatomb is not compiled with javascript because the repository libraries (libmozjs185) does not support the compilation of SpiderMonkey into MediaTomb. Looking back - this particular build-receipe has been used since v10.04 (lucid) thus you'll need to repack the Debian MediaTomb packages with Javascript support yourself.

Apr 28, 2008 · Hmm, the question is - is the FreeNAS MediaTomb version compiled with JS support? Playlists will only work if the SpiderMonkey js library was compiled in. If you are not sure how to test that, here is a way: try changing the layout from "builtin" to "js", if the server refuses to start after that change then it was compiled without libjs.

Mar 30, 2010 · Yes you definitely need JS support. I use SuSE Linux and the package that I got had it built in. If your distribution does not provide you with a copy of MediaTomb with JS support you will have to compile the program from source yourself… Comment by leon — November 29, 2010 @ 5:49 pm
