Dec 31, 2015 · I believe Microsoft is committed to support MFC for the foreseeable future, but it is pretty much in maintenance mode. So I would not say that MFC has potential; whatever (considerable) potential it had has been realized long ago. 20 years ago when I started learning C++, using MFC for Windows applications was a no-brainer.
