Nov 21, 2017 · I would like to know why Outlook 2007 and 2010 doesn't support full CSS. We actually I know why, because it uses the Word rendering engine. There really should be an update for Outlook to support proper CSS such as float and position etc.

The irony is that the meta tag in email idea was Microsoft's! They used this to enable CSS3 support on the Windows Phone 8 email client.. I totally agree there's no reason not to use the browser control to render email (especially since the Office API allows embedding browser controls in Outlook!)
