Mar 24, 2014 · I'm thinking of buying a motorhome (coachbuilt, around 3500kg MTPLM) and I've been looking at the possibility of carrying a bike on the back for continental trips to avoid having to up-sticks every time I want to go to the shops. Having read a bit about it, a realistic maximum limit for any m/home without a garage is 125Kg, and even that could compromise the overall payload.

We keep thinking about a toad but don't think we want to incur the expense, expend the effort, accept fewer mpg, when we doubt we will use it frequently (if we stay in one place for a week we rent a car).
