Oct 14, 2018 · There have been a couple of bugs (all fixed) where the registry keys for Simple MAPI support are set incorrectly if you upgrade (rather than install using the setup program). If the problem shows up after upgrading, try re-installing Thunderbird. ... Its also available on the Mozilla Add-ons web site as ExQuilla for Microsoft Exchange.

The solution to this issues has been mentioned within the comments of my German blog post about Thunderbird 60.5.2: Simply uninstall the Thunderbird email client completely and then reinstall it in the next step. This has helped for most people. But there are also comments within my German blog post, saying that this workaround did not help on all systems.

Sep 22, 2009 · Thunderbird is designed to support Internet mail standards, not proprietary servers like Exchange and Domino. Publishing an API does not make Exchange standards-compliant. An extension could certainly extend Thunderbird's current MAPI support—but as we have not seen this happen to date, I suspect it is far from straightforward.
