Oct 23, 2012 · Network drives can only be backed up using MozyPro, by someone whose user type is specified as a Server user. If you are using MozyHome or are a MozyPro Desktop user, you cannot back up a network drive using Mozy. Note: To backup files from a network share, they must be in a folder that has been setup to allow other computers to access it.

Mozy for Mac connects to network drives directly through the native file system, the Finder. Mozy does not need a separate connection to a network drive to access files from it. However, Mozy cannot cause the Finder to mount or connect a network drive if it is not connected and Mac OS X doesn’t mount network drives on boot or startup by default.

It is not part of the Mozy backup software for Mac. You can back up to a local network drive using a UNC path only if you use MozyPro or MozyEnterprise with a server pass. MozyHome can only back up to internal drives or to an external drive which is connected directly to the computer.
