In general Google has pledged to remove H264 support in Chrome so, it's not really to be trusted. Anyway... That test page doesn't work in my Chrome Version 24.0.1312.57 m on Windows 7 - it only plays the audio and a blank video stream. I did a quick survey and of the 22 people in this team that tested, 7 could not play the video and 15 could.

chrome could play html5 mp4 video but html5test said chrome did not support mp4 video codec. It has to do with the phasing out of mp4 support in Chrome in favor of webm open format. Currently browser support seems spurious. See the post for informative details. The Cromium forum provides further information about the codec support. Hope this helps.

Jul 01, 2014 · It is unlikely H.264 support will be dropped from Chrome anytime soon since it would be too disruptive to existing users and unnecessarily break sites. While I sympathise with Chromium-based browsers w/o H.264 support, I don't really see a path forward for them if they don't confront the licensing issues themselves.
