To be clear, there aren't cycling shoes that offer ankle support. This is a big misnomer in basketball as well. The shoe can't offer ankle support but only heel lock in. If you have ankle problems you need to be looking at dedicated ankle braces.

Superb brace, use it 2-4 times a week for the past 18 months and it's still perfect, not cheap but then you asked for the best I use it to support the ankle as I have very bad arthritis and also had all the tendons in the foot/ankle lengthened and as a support brace to make sure you don't injure it again I find it superb.

Jul 18, 2012 · 661 used to make something similar to the T2 active ankle. the neoprene sleeve type of braces don't do much except for keep you warm (according to multiple pt's and my ortho). you may find the perfect shoe for you but they will wear out and will probably change over the years. having a good quality brace will provide more support if that's the ultimate goal.

Apr 28, 2014 · Best/stiffest ankle brace for biking? I had a spinal cord injury in '05 that really put a damper on the nerve activity in the back of my legs and especially in my calf muscles. So I have had the opposite program of drop foot, where I can pull up relatively strongly but can't push down strongly enough to stand on my toes.
