Nov 26, 2007 · Looks like V7 wants us to update the NAV730 with NAV740 map files to get the additional POI's. They have now copied those files into the NAV730 folder at their support website as 'Premium' map files and are available to anyone for download.

I tried numerous times to unlock my NAV730 using ideefixe's instructions. I even went as far as to copy the "new line" from the post to my addon.txt file. I was never able to get the new icon to show up so I could launch WindowsCE. I saw on another forum that this format will not work for the NAV730.

I thought you would want to know that V7 has a support site with a new version of the S/W and lots of maps to download!!! ... I haven't been able to get any maps from any other hardware to work on the Nav730, there were a few updated state maps in the 730 group at least. But why not all states, maybe a temporary glitch. ... Your V7 NAV Series NAV730 only supports modules made with a specific type of chip. Should you find what seems to be the exact same memory elsewhere for a lower price, it is very possible that the cheaper memory will not work in your system.
