    May 25, 2004 · Answer: NEC 410.16(C) requires the suspended ceiling to be securely attached to the building structure. It also requires that the framing members of suspended ceiling systems used to support luminaires (fixtures) to be securely fastened to each other and it requires the luminaires (fixtures) to be securely fastened to the ceiling framing member.
