Oct 31, 2013 · Note: Netatalk 3.1 features new Spotlight support, so I also have to add the tracker and tracker-devel packages, but they require dbus and a whole lot of gnome packages. I think I’ll pass for the moment and I’ll test it on some of my Ubuntu boxes.

Jan 08, 2013 · Extreme-Z IP can provide it on Windows by taking advantage of Windows Search as the metadata indexing tool and creating a reverse-engineered Spotlight compatible index. And the netatalk people (QNAP uses netatalk for AFP) are just starting to get experimental support for this off the ground, using Gnome Tracker as the metadata indexer on Linux.
