NetWinder specific documentation¶. The NetWinder is a small low-power computer, primarily designed to run Linux. It is based around the StrongARM RISC processor, DC21285 PCI bridge, with PC-type hardware glued around it.

The NetWinder WS also comes loaded with Perl for CGI scripting, the Apache web server, FTP, TELNET and DNS services. Also included are multimedia support, a 16-bit stereo sound card and 2MB SVGA/XVGA video. The unit I reviewed is actually a DM demo.

Mar 01, 2000 · Still, if you want the web-based interface, small size, low power consumption, ease of use and corporate support, you'll do fine with a NetWinder. Developers could really have fun with it, although I would recommend the Developer model for them, since it's even more fun. We still have to see if a good web browser gets ported to the NetWinder ...
