Oct 30, 2008 · NFI.EXE is a useful tool for drilling down into NTFS, and it’s FREE in the OEM Support Tools Phase 3 Service Release 2. Since NFI is free, it is also not an officially “supported” utility. Despite this, NFI can tell you a lot of information about the allocated ranges of any file.

An alternative might be nfi.exe, a very old (1999) MS tool which maps sectors to files without any further calculations. It still works for me on Win7 x64 with a 2TB disk with old MBR partition table. A real world example: C:\ # nfi \device\harddisk0\dr0 10008000 ...
