Jun 11, 2016 · They used a 3 x spoke pattern whereas nuvinci recommends a 2 x; Based on the above configuration, sheldon brown's calculator gives a gain ratio of 1.9:1. This assumes that the nuvinci is operating through its full under drive range and also considers 26" wheels and 160mm cranks.

Sep 01, 2017 · Because the NuVinci is a continuously variable transmission, there are no gears, so you do not need a gear sensor (it would not apply anyway). If you are going to use the NuVinci with the Manual C8 controller, then under heavy load the shifting may be a bit harder, and easing on the pedal pressure will help.

Dec 28, 2014 · 5 Tech support from the company poor and unenthusiastic .My cables kept coming off the hub interface so I contacted Nuvinci and they said the would send me the latest hub interface the 2012 to replace the 2010 which had problems (this took three weeks and 4 calls to remind them).

Review near to 47.000 km, when starting to ride the 4th NuVinci N360 hub… I suppose that some issues can be already generalized: Fluid leaks through bearings and the hub body itself seems to be „normal“.

May 26, 2016 · The N380 is supposed to have this issue fixed and is sold as a superior and heavy duty version. I shall be testing to see if it really is suitable for cargo bikes up to 168kg. This is just an initial review, I will report back on any stator wear when I have done some miles. First impressions are that the build quality is better.

I am a bicycle rider and was interested to know what the efficiency (input : output power transfer) of the NuVinci drive was. A chain ring to sprocket drive typically has 97 % efficiency, much higher than gears and a drive shaft. Since a chain ring drives a sprocket on the NuVinci casing, its efficiency is immediately going to be less than 97 %.

Nov 08, 2013 · The Nuvinci provides 0.5 Underdrive to 1.8 Overdrive - so mostly overdrive which is why the lower gearing from the cogs is nice for hill assist - I cannot argue with BluNosDav that Nuvinci lists their minimum cog ratio at 1.8/1 - I can only speculate that new applications such as this have caused them to rethink some of their original restraints.
