Nov 28, 2010 · Ever since OpenBSD introduced UTF‐8 support (in 4.8), I’ve been using lots of Unicode characters through X11’s compose feature. Press the compose key (in my case, right alt), follow it with a predefined sequence of characters, and presto!, a special character appears.

On July 27th, Stefan Sperling (stsp@) added support for the multi-byte characters in the OpenBSD libc. Thanks to the work of the people involved in its development, the OpenBSD C library now supports the Unicode character encoding scheme UTF-8.
