Sep 19, 2013 · OpenDNS doesn't support DNSSEC, and prevents doing the validation yourself if you wanted to do so, by stripping required records before forwarding a response to you. If you need DNSSEC for specific zones (like, for publishing SSH host keys), you can configure BIND to forward queries to OpenDNS except for these zones.

Signing zones with DNSSEC takes a few steps, but there are millions of zones that sign their DNS information so that users of validating resolvers can be assured of getting good data. Almost all common authoritative name server software supports signing zones, and many third-party DNS hosting providers also support DNSSEC.

DNSSEC on resolver side – OpenDNS

    https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/220018307-DNSSEC-on-resolver-side
OpenDNS' stance on this so far has been strange; it's a classic circular problem if one of the largest resolvers refuses to support DNSSEC because not enough people support it, when by failing to support it they're diminishing support for the feature!

Jan 13, 2014 · Anyway I commented on this thread since I got OpenDNS support reply which says "DNSSEC is being considered for the future" and I was suggested to voice my opinion on this existing thread (I was given link to this page in the e-mail). I could ask you the same, though.

OpenDNS adopts DNSCurve - OpenDNS Umbrella Blog

    https://umbrella.cisco.com/blog/2010/02/23/opendns-dnscurve/
DNSSEC can theoretically support other crypto standards, but the IETF has largely ignored efforts from interested parties to add support for faster and stronger algorithms. So while debate about DNSSEC wears on, we’re excited to announce that OpenDNS has fully adopted another proposed DNS security solution: DNSCurve.

    https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115020323983-New-Simple-DNSCrypt-install-doesn-t-work
Nov 29, 2017 · I changed the Primary Resolver to Cisco OpenDNS and the OpenDNS test site now works! :-) However DNSSEC now shows a cross so I guess it is not encrypted. :-(Some testing shows that only the DNSCrypt.* resolvers support DNSSEC. The old DNSCrypt windows client running on another machine works fine with the test site. > nslookup -type=txt debug ...
