You can see list of supported video formats, when open the drop-down list of file types near the bottom of the Insert Movie and Sound dialog box. I have no problem with playing video of different formats in my LibreOffice Impress. I suggest you install last codec pack, for instance K-Lite Codec Pack. 0

Nov 14, 2015 · A method that one can use when a video plays outside of OpenOffice Impress, but not when inserted into Impress, is to make a slide with a a hyperlink to the video file. Clicking on the hyperlink will pull up the system video player which will play the video instead of it being show on a slide.
