2018-07-16 OProfile 1.3.0 released. OProfile 1.3.0 has been released. This release adds support for Intel Goldmont Plus microarchitecture. This release fixes several issues when OProfile is compiled with newer GCC 8 compilers. Add OProfile support for arm64, using the perf backend, and failing back to generic timer based sampling if PMU interrupt is not supported. I have test this patch on Cortex-A53 and Cortex-A57 motherboard, the OProfile could work well by PMU irq or arch timer irq.

Android supports oprofile actually. And you can play happily with that with some oprofile knowledge on G1. However the external/oprofile in Android does not support ARM_V7 for now.
