VMWare may be great for testing RAC on a single system. However, consider the following before deploying Oracle system on VMWare: Oracle Corporation does support their products on VMware, but does not certify them. The difference is that in the case of support, Oracle will try to fix the bug/problem and will do so if the bug is known.

Oct 31, 2007 · I haven't seen a specific document but I believe from the Oracle side they will support any issue that is a known issue or could be reproduced in a physical environment. From my past experiences I did not have any issues with Oracle support on any issues and we ran Oracle as a VM. That was with 9i though so don't know for sure about 10G.
