Nov 18, 2010 · There is no functional difference between the same versions of Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) and Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). OEL is free and fully compatible with RHEL. There is nothing specifically tuned for Oracle in OEL that is not in RHEL. If you are using Oracle products it makes sense to run OEL and have one support contact.
