I looked at the Asus P5E-VM DO motherboard manual, and VT-d is specifically mentioned as a bios option. I would like to know if the upcoming P45 chipset will support VT-d as opposed to the Q45. Why doesn't Intel have a product matrix so that we can easily find chipsets that support VT-d?

Nov 10, 2009 · i am testing esxi4 with Intel q8400. somehow esxi tells me that i don't have VT-O support so i can't use Direct I/O. I have confirmed that the CPU is support VT so the only left is the motherboard. i have flashed to latest BIOS i can find v1.2. but there is no option that i can turn on and off VT in BIOS.

Sep 22, 2010 · Hi all, I have a GA EP45-UD3P rev. 1.0 mainboard (BIOS F10), which I'm very happy with. I currently have a Q9650 installed in it. I know that the CPU supports Intel's Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (aka VT-d), but I also know that for this feature to work, the mainboard needs to support it.

Sep 07, 2010 · Enabling "Intel virtualisation tech" only enables VT-x. My CPU supports both VT-x and VT-d, so it's a shame not to be able to use both functionalities. Could someone enable this feature in a modded version of the asus bios?
