Nov 06, 2015 · Curious if this BIOS would also be appropriate for an X5272 (Dual Core, 3.4Ghz/6M/1600) CPU? I have the board (Same as OP, P5Q-E) and adapter ready but didn't buy the CPU yet. Dual core will be more than enough power for what I'm using it for and that CPU is significantly cheaper than the Quads or even the 1333FSB Dual core variants.

Aug 01, 2009 · It supports all Core 2 Duo and Quad CPUs, so the fastest dual-core is E8600 and the fastest quad-core is Q9650. You can double-check from ASUS' support website but I'm pretty sure all P5Q series boards support Q9650.
