Dec 01, 2008 · Parallels Desktop 4.0 indeed doesn't support Vista Aero - I checked it out today. For me, the lack of Aero is not a deal breaker, but as I use Parallels to test out software and take screen captures of various operations, being limited to the Basic theme is a bit limiting.

Nov 05, 2009 · I've been using Parallels 5 today. It seems snappier and the Aero handling is much better (On Fusion 3 it works well but it doesn't seem that smooth). Definitely better than Parallels 4 I've been using for the last few months. I have a play around tonight but looks like it is Parallels 5.0 for me!

Nov 06, 2009 · I use parallels 4.0 on my Mac Pro, I have XP, Vista & Win 7 RC 7100. I think Parallels 5 will support Aero, I'm not sure when it comes out though. I don't think I've had one problem with Parallels, I've never tried Fusion though. Kind Regards

In Parallels 5.0, Windows 7 turned off Aero mode, claiming I no longer had a compatible video card. In any event, both Parallels and Fusion seem more responsive with Aero disabled, so maybe that isn’t too big a loss!
