Viper strike is the same 10% per stack yes, but the duration of those stacks, is 8 seconds. Viper strike is what it has always been a single target skill. And that's why I am using it in my poison blade fall build. The poison support gem allows poison aoe attacks. Something that viper strike melee splash has never been able to deliver effectively.

Dec 23, 2015 · Haven't finished actual mathing yet, but after some more discussion it looks like Viper Strike - added chaos - void manipulation should be the clear first 3 gems on any VS build. Those three gems all stack each other up in ridiculously stupid ways, especially with support from the tree.

Dec 19, 2015 · Viper strike without the poison is kinda lackluster. Poison support boosts the dps of the poison VS does by 120% however Double strike (for example) is kinda alright without poison, better than viper strike without poison. poison support gives it 100% poison and boosts that poison by 120%. So, the problem I think is quite simple.
