Well, Picasa will support SOME Sony RAW files. It's been a while since the RAW support was updated. I suggest you convert the files to DNG first.

Google Picasa's site says that Picasa can organise and manage RAW files and has basic codecs to allow for previews but it is stated that Picasa is not advanced enough to support the editing of RAW formats and other post-production software should be used. A possible solution is to convert these to the " open". RAW format, DNG. This way you can keep your files in a RAW format, so you don't loose any quality, and they will be "safer" as on the long run DNG has a far bigger chance to keep being supported than a proprietary format made by one camera brand.
