Jun 17, 2009 · Re: [SOLVED] X11 Fatal server error: no screens found X has always done a good job for me of autodetecting settings.I wouldnt worry about having a xorg.conf if everything is ok without one.The other thing you could try is letting X itself configure the file instead of nvidia-xconfig if that is giving you problems
