While IE6- doesn’t explicitly support alpha-transparency out-of-the-box, if you will, there is a workaround that ensures PNG’s cross-browser compatibility.

Mar 19, 2009 · There's a well known problem in IE 6 rendering transparent png files and a number of scripts that fix the issue are available. All these script replace the transparent background with a transparent GIFs however the fix doesn't work in RF components, you still get a weird background for the images rendered in panels or trees, etc...

Jul 15, 2015 · I cannot view .png pages in Internet Explorer. I think this problem ends up sounding sort of weird when other people, or I write it out. It's hard to explain what exactly the problem is. People who answer the question think that we want to change the PNG file associations to Windows Explorer or something.
