If that hack could be implemented with the linux OS then we could watch MKV movies without having to transform them in NTFS hard drives (the ps3 doesn't read MKV files and doesn't support NTFS hard drives (which is fucked up because FAT 32 hard drives don't support files over 5 gb)).

Nov 10, 2013 · PS3 cannot launch backup on NTFS. Firmware itself has no support for NTFS. Multiman and Iris Manager have software support that allows you to read NTFS drive as archive. It is meant to copy whatever is on NTFS drive onto internal PS3 drive so you can launch games internally. You can only launch games externally if the drive is FAT32 to begin with.
