Apr 30, 2018 · lets stay you WDS/PXE Server has an IP address 10.10.10.10, and the IP Range is on a different subnet/VLAN (lets call it VLAN 90) you will need to add the 10.10.10.10 into the IP Helper list on VLAN 90. PXE is a broadcast packet, the IP Helper list is a list of IP Address of devices that can respond to broadcast packets.

Your PXE-E55 is telling you that the system cannot communicate with the dhcp server. Since you split up the systems into vlans, with all servers in one vlan, you've now created a block between the systems being able to send BOOTP/DHCP requests to the dhcp server.

The switch is a Cisco WS-C3560X-48P-S The PXE server is a Windows 2008 R2 Standard server running Altiris 8.1 (Altiris is handling the PXE service) NOTE: it works exactly the way i want it to when the PC is on the same vlan as the server and it works in legacy mode with the current config.

Apr 21, 2010 · Support Resources for IT Professionals ... SCCM will nto provide PXE service to these additional VLANs. We watched inside the switches as the client tried to PXE boot. We saw no option 67 come through. I should mention that the VLANs are also setup to recieve DHCP from our AD server. This was added after SCCM was originally installed.

As far as I can tell however that will preclude me from being able to use PXE boot/Crucible to image my systems since the card won't be aware of the VLAN tags prior to boot. Can anyone tell me for sure if this is the case? Can you PXE boot a machine when the network the imaging server is on is one of many tagged VLANs on a 802.1q VLAN trunk?
