Interestingly, the Vim help page I linked above mentions editing vim.exe and searching for a python dll string. I couldn't find one in my vim.exe. I've confirmed that both Vim and Python are 32 bit. Vim by checking the :ver command and Python by calling sys.version from a Python command prompt.

A few months a go i started using vim almost exclusively on my linux machines at home. Unfortunately i have to work in a windows environment at work. I tried to install different versions of vim on a 64bit Windows 8.1 but whatever i do i never have python support with those pre compiled installers.
