Adobe has dropped support for Quicktime 7 in After Effects 15.1 so a lot of legacy codecs will not be available anymore. The link you are referencing is very old and not applicable to newer versions of AE.

Feb 22, 2019 · There are some video formats that XDCAM doesn't support (like 4K) and in those cases SpeedHQ is used. FFMPEG, which is what most applications are moving to for video media support as they stop using the Apple QuickTime libraries, does support SpeedHQ.

The Quicktime installer will install fine on Windows 10. Yes, Apple is no longer updating it but it does work if you need it. You only need Quicktime if you want to import Quicktime video files. Stuff in the MOV file format. Some Quicktime files can be renamed to the MP4 file extension and work in Hitfilm without Quicktime.

When I do the Quicktime download page is started, but it is already installed. When I download and repair Quicktime, and return to the page, Quicktime is still not found. When I go through the Firefox plugin service, the message is "no plugins installed, Apple Quicktime Not available Manual install" which takes me to the Apple download page.
