Jun 04, 2018 · IRST and RAID1 does not support TRIM - so technically it's off - link above confirms THAT being the case, I would recommend to not use the IRST RAID. You'll tank your SSDs in less time than necessary. Effectively you're creating a greater need for redundancy by making it redundant.

Using software RAID (like Linux md) on top of a LSI HBA with IT-mode firmware will support DSM/TRIM just fine, presumably. Maybe Linux with blk-mq can offer the kind of performance we're looking for in that kind of setup. level 2
