Jun 10, 2011 · I am using mongoid and I set config.mongoid.preload_models to false, which gave me some performance enhancements, but still css compilation is still slow relative to running compass standalone and without further improvements in the asset pipeline it is more productive for me to use compass standalone for css, and the asset pipeline for js and image serving only.

Jun 12, 2011 · It may help to downgrade to 0.8.2 but this probably because we fixed several memory leaks with 0.9 that now run afoul of multithreading because it's actually freeing more objects. In any case, we'll get a fix out as soon as we can.

For anyone having the same issue, it is resolved in rubygems 2.3.0 which enables you to still use older versions of ruby. The fix is here: rubygems/rubygems@0936ca6. If you are using OpsWorks, in your Rails Layer, set RubyGems version to 2.3.0. 👍
