It only allows you to select widescreen resolutions if it detects your monitor as supporting them. Though you can get around this by editing Options.txt in your C:\Documents and Settings\[your username]\Application Data\Atari\RCT3\ folder, and adding the line Resolution X Y, replacing X with desired width and Y with height.

Jun 08, 2013 · Hi, thanks for your advice, but I found out on some computers you have to check "Show hidden folders". I watched an old Youtube-Video, where they did that and the appdata/ Atari/RCT3/Options.txt showed up. I tried it and now I have changed resolution to 1920 1280. I found a Youtube-Video that shows how to "Show Hidden Folders" on Windows 10.

Jun 29, 2019 · Just for a heads-up: while the in-game option only supports a restrictive set of resolutions there is an easy manual fix for that. Go to 'C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming\Atari\RCT3\' and open the Options document via Notepad or equivalent.

Aug 03, 2011 · Have a widescreen computer and your RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 game is not filling up the whole screen? You can imagine that you can change this setting easily within the game, but even with that the game will appear at a fixed 4:3 aspect ratio, instead of 16:9. There is a way to enjoy your RCT3 game in full screen by changing one line in one file.

Nov 17, 2019 · While the bad widescreen support is annoying as xxxx, the game is completely playable and enjoyable! You could just let it run in the default "borderless windowed" 21:9 mode. It's Vert- instead of Hor+ and windowed prevents Gsync/FreeSync, but it's totally playable this way.
