I know about a solution where you can change the "SATA operation" setting in the BIOS from Raid Autodetect/AHCI to Raid Autodetect/ATA, but then Windows does not boot anymore and re-installation is needed. Therefore I would like to wait for the Linux kernel to support the AHCI mode of the Intel 925X.

Intel state that the driver is meant for redhat 8.0 but i do not want to revert back to a older redhat in order to use it. I find it strange that the raid driver can only support a particular version of redhat and i forsee that there will be incompatibility problems if i choose to use redhat 8.0 and upgrade the software components from there.

It should support the marvel ports as well, though it could take some sodding around, and its not worth even trying (aetratus is right, they are pure crap). BTW, "another" RAID 0, and in post #7 you say "other raid 0"....you arent trying to run 2 x raptors in some RAID array are you?
