Mar 02, 2006 · I just installed centOS 4.2, and discovered that it does not have reiserFS support. I downloaded the vanilla kernel src and compiled a new kernel, added some rows to grub.conf - But my new kernel doesn't boot.

Dec 15, 2010 · If you are getting mount: unknown filesystem type ‘reiserfs’ which means that your kernel does not support the reiserfs file-system and it will resolve if you install the centos-plus kernel which has the reiserfs support in-build. Install the reiserfs-utils # yum install reiserfs-utils
