If you have a GFWL game that supports controllers some will work out of the box, and some games will only work with a XBOX360 controller (which there are dedicated xbox360controller emulators for). But Resident Evil 5 does not require an XBOX 360 controller, so my guess is that if the controller is detected it will work.

There is free software that will allow a PS3/PS4 controller to work with a Computer by tricking said computer into believing your controller is an XBOX controller. I'll report back with the link, but yo should be able to find it relatively easily on the web.
