Jul 27, 2011 · RHEL6 xfs support and RPM's. Hi, I am new to this thread, but I have just installed RHEL6 and am trying to create an xfs file system. I tried to do mkfs.ext4 -b8192 /dev/sdc1 but it did not work when i do a dmesg i get the following EXT4-fs (sdc1): bad block size 8192

In RHEL6 maximum file system size=16TB (for 64bit Machine) and 8TB (for 32 bit machine). While in RHEL7 maximum file system size is 500TB. Also keep in mind that RHEL does not support XFS on 32-bit machines.
