Feb 23, 2017 · This. It's an optimus system and apparently* has BIOS switches for IGP and GPU. Disabling the intel chip there is the most straightforward solution; otherwise you'll have to write an xorg config file (nvidia-settings should be able to do this, but i'm not sure it runs w/o glx anymore)
