Oct 22, 2010 · The lower radiator support rusting out is a very common problem on older Maximas - especially in climates known for snow/ice conditions. I had the support on my 95 SE replaced (here in SE MA) a couple years ago for $400.

May 02, 2014 · This radiator support not only holds the radiator up, but is also connected to an engine support in the centre. This radiator support is rusting through right in the centre where the engine support bolts to the rad support. This problem is widespread on the 2000-2003 and the 1995 - 1999 Maxima. A google search will reveal the extent of the problem.

Mar 28, 2010 · Ah man, My 1st gen was rusted to hell right there too. When I bought my 2nd gen I crawled under and looked for that crap LoL. Let me know what the shop charges you for that. It's definitely an Altima and even a Maxima problem. Rusted radiator support.

Jun 13, 2014 · 1999 Maxima SE I recently removed the front splash panels on my 1999 Maxima Se to replace the alternator. A front body cross member (called a lower tie bar radiator support or support radiator core lower) has pretty much rusted away on the bottom of the unit ( I mean real bad).
