Since I will have this unit seasonal I leave the awning extended for the summer. I ordered and am having the dealer install the center leg support and dafter to keep the awning taunt. Apr 30, 2009 · I use my awning quite frequently and have never seen the need for the center support (even though I don't know exactly what it is supposed to do other than add support in the middle of the awning). Is it because your roller tube flexes a lot in the middle? Our awning roller tube is made out of steel and has very little flex to it at all.
