Quota support There already exists some quota support for samba both on client side and server side. On the client side there is the smbcquota tool, afaics this only works using SMB1 (or at least I only ever saw it working with smb1, I don't see any cmdline switches to change it)

Feb 01, 2019 · Alright so the kernel configuration should not be a problem. I noticed the same behavior (although I run a custom kernel), I think I "solved" it by building samba without quota support from ports. This is only a work around and not really the root cause. Although it does leave my logs clean. I'll try creating a PR if its reproducible in my VM.

If running to Samba, you will typically want to check the share settings in the server's smb.conf configuration file in order to enable "ea support = yes" (to enable xattr support) and if running with btrfs "vfs objects = btrfs" (to allow tests for reflink support to run)

I don't understand though how smbd_do_query_getinfo_quota is getting called if the share doesn't have quota support enabled (which it can't as the flag to indicate that is also controlled by HAVE_SYS_QUOTA) There is an additional problem reported to do with the detection of quota support not being detected properly on AIX.
