Jul 28, 2013 · MP4 is just a container, the video within is likely H.264 of which there are various sub-sets of that specification like base/main/high. The Samsung media player is not a particularly robust media player and the files you have could have been encoded in a manner that it will not play back as they have some mix of H.264 profiles the TV does not support.

I copied a sample of the files that would not play onto a USB stick and returned to the store. The files wouldn't play on any Series 7 TV but they would play on any Series 6.
