On the UME , sap_xi_administrator_j2ee <b>user group </b>does not have any roles assigned to them. Does this mean that we have to assign or map any existing UME roles? If so, what are they? UME is used with an ABAP backend user store.

Mar 30, 2006 · all applications you mention reside on the Java Stack of the WAS (except some of the RWB functionality). Therefore not the "normal" kind of authorizations on ABAP side are used but rather the UME on the Java Stack. There are predefined roles in SAP XI like SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR.

We have, to this point, been assigning our support personnel to the SAP_* delivered roles. We are copying/renaming all abap roles, and copying the corresponding roles in the AS Java UME and assigning to the new user groups. We run a dual-stacked system, with all user to role assignments taking place in AS ABAP.
