There is a Microsoft patch that will let you format drives using GPT so you can use the 3TB drive however being a 32bit OS it will only see a max 2.1TB partition. So you would have to manually partition the drive, at which point I don't know if the WHS would permit you to stuff it into the storage pool.

Jul 26, 2012 · The drive is formatted GPT of course and not by the HP EX490. It is formatted by Drobo Tools via RDP. I also added an external 3TB USB WD drive and that was also seen.
