Mar 23, 2011 · Without enough arch support I get pain in my big toes and some numbness. It's not a cleat issue or a knee tracking issue (I have specialized bg shoes with a forefoot tilt built into them). With the arch support my foot feels engaged with the shoe through the whole pedal revolution and has a good platform for the power phase of the stroke.

May 03, 2004 · I just got some new Sidi Genius 4 shoes (size 45.5), which come with a very thin insole with almost no arch support. They are also just a hair loose with thin socks. A local shop has the Superfeet cycling insoles, which look like they'll work well, for $29. Has anyone tried these, or found a cheaper option that works as well?-David

My Sidi original insoles seemed flat. BTD had the Sidi comfort fit insole, I ordered, they arrived, I replaced, I rode. No cutting, trimming, or folding required. The best thing about Sidi shoes is you forget them - they just work. The insoles fit, don't take up too much space and will probably give me another two seasons of riding.3.5/5(8)

Three inherent weaknesses was addressed by: a) Switched insole to Specialized BG black insole, as the paper-thin Comfort footbed lacked a good arch support; b) Installed 11mm short Cyclocross stainless toe spike, to counter the premature toe lug wear, under dry, rocky desert conditions I ride in; c) Had shoe cobbler glue a 1.8mm thin Vibram ...Ratings: 4

Not much to say here - these insoles feature a metatarsal reinforcement and anti microbial treatment (possibly some more heel support) vs. the stock insoles. Sidi insoles are kind of a joke and these should come stock on a [$] pair of shoes, but I digress.3.5/5(7)

Arch Support: The decent Orthotic insoles for you is the one that supports the arch without pushing it high as this will reduce any stress that is placed on the arch whenever you are stepping down. Look for the one that will offer proper height whenever you are wearing shoes.

Sidi insoles are kind of a joke and these should come stock on a [$] pair of shoes, but I digress. Bottom line, if you need some metatarsal support get these, they are cheap and fit perfectly in the shoes. If you need tons of options for arch support, look elsewhere.3.5/5(8)
