SInce it involves loopback at the MAC - TX/RX buffers level there should be no concern about the pin mux and IO's. The loopback configuration has to work as it is.But the MAC level loopback fails. There are two EMAC (SGMII) ports connected to internal switch, port 0 is connected through AMC backplane as MAC-to-MAC connection and port 1 is connected to a Gbs PHY which is accessible through the RJ45 connector. I believe that EMAC port 0 is not available without the AMC chassis although the internal loopback does work.

Feb 02, 2014 · HI Anupama, I would agree with Daniel, the Loopback interface does not have any mac address associated to it, also for this reason it can be always up even when the physical interfaces are shutdown, if the Loopback interface had any association of L2 with any physical interface it would not be able to be up when the physical interface is down.
