I also cant eject the disc - i have the recovery disc in there at the moment but i also own a retail copy of snow leopard and wondered if that would work - but as i cant eject the disc i cant get this one in.

Sep 03, 2009 · Zeroed out the hard drive and proceeded to install Snow Leopard from DVD disc. Install Failed: Could not copy the necessary support files. Will try just installing 10.5 Leopard tomorrow. If it does not work I'm buying a new hard drive.
