Feb 15, 2018 · Regular support (Oracle calls it Premier Support in this case) for Solaris 10 ended on January 2018, and only Extended Support (with a separate paid agreement between customer and vendor) is available through January 2021. Also are there any advantage in running solaris 10 in a branded zone than in an LDOM. From a security perspective, which is the recommended deployment model.

Oct 16, 2018 · For GCC 10 in H1'2020, the Solaris 10 support would be removed. That's the plan at least and so far no one has voiced any strong objection to dropping the Solaris 10 support from the GCC compiler. Solaris was a fair amount of fun in the final days of Sun Microsystems, but it looks now like it's time to sunset Solaris 10 by GCC 10.
