Dec 04, 2017 · Well, let's start with Extended Support. Oracle Solaris 10 Extended Support will continue to supply you with fixes, security patches, security alerts for Oracle Solaris 10 similar to Oracle Solaris 10 Premier Support for 3 years. It doesn't, however, include new hardware support.

Apr 20, 2018 · On Tuesday April 17 we released the first batch of Solaris 10 patches & patchsets under Solaris 10 Extended Support. There were a total of 24 Solaris 10 patches, including kernel updates, and 4 patchsets released on MOS! Solaris 10 Extended Support will run thru January 2021.

Feb 15, 2018 · Regular support (Oracle calls it Premier Support in this case) for Solaris 10 ended on January 2018, and only Extended Support (with a separate paid agreement between customer and vendor) is available through January 2021. Oracle Solaris 10 is now in Extended Support (from Jan 2018) and access to patches is curtailed even if you have an existing Premier support contract. If you need patches going forward contact Oracle to uplift your support to Extended Support which has a premium of 10% (of your current Premier Support value). Years 2 & 3 will be 20%.

Jan 16, 2018 · There is one Oracle lifecycle pdf which says Solaris 10 Premier Support would end on Jan 2018 and extended support would be there till Jan 2021. Please let me know if it is true and whether there would be separate contract for extended support and what difference will it make.

First, there is a support uplift with Extended Support, if you need Solaris 10, expect to pay a little more for support.
